The ORUC family origins lie in the central plains of Konya. Mehmet Oruc, grandfather to Ahmed, Ramazan and Cumali was head of a family with 13 children. They made a living from carpet making, farming and construction work. Conditions were hard, and like many families in that region during those early days life was tough and the Orucs struggled to make a living. Grandfather Oruc died in 1983 and his son, also named Mehmet, determined that it would be better if he relocated. After much thought and research Mehmet moved his family to Dalyan in 1988. He died in 1992 but not before seeing his sons launch the business that was to diversify through ORUC Carpets, ORUC Construction, Dalyan Real Estate and more into the Blue Chip company that is ORUC International. On a chance visit to Dalyan in the mid 1990's Charles Bentley, a teacher and experienced traveller discovered the special charm of Dalyan. Captivated by the natural beauty, hospitality and climate, Charles returned to have a second home built. He introduced friends to Dalyan, helping them build holiday homes of their own.

The marketing director, Colin Bentley, has 25 years experience working as a consultant in Marketing and more recently in property management in Liverpool. The chairman and Project Director have 10 years successful experience in property development and management in the UK, France and more recently Turkey, www.dalyanjewel.com.  The company secretary, David Gibson has 15 years successful experience in Property development and letting in the UK and more recently Turkey www.pamuktarlasi.com. All 3 directors have known each other for 30 years and have established working relationships.
